Dextran sulfate sodium salt (MW 36000-50000) can be used to induce acute/chronic colitis and colitis related colon cancer models.
1、Inducing an acute colitis model Using daily drinking methods for modeling, 3-5% DSS aqueous solution is added for 7 days and restored with 3 days of drinking water.
2、Chronic colitis
Modeling was conducted using daily drinking methods, with a 1-3% DSS aqueous solution for 5 days followed by a 5-day drinking water recovery period, for a total of three cycles.
Note: Ready to use: DSS solution is easily degradable and should be stored at 4 ° C for no more than 24 hours after preparation. Fresh solution should be replaced daily to avoid contamination.
