生物活性

Poloxamer 188 is a nonionic linear copolymer with surfactant properties. Poloxamer 188 exhibits anti-thrombotic, anti-inflammatory, and cytoprotective activities in various tissue injury models. Poloxamer 188 can be used for drug delivery.

体外研究

Poloxamer 188 (10-1000 μ M, 5 h) has a protective effect on small brain microvascular endothelial cells (MBEC).
Docetaxel loaded PLGA/poloxam188 nanoparticle led to drug uptake and cytotoxicity of Docetaxel resistant MCF-7 TAX30 breast cancer cells increased compared with Docetaxel loaded PLGA nanoparticle.

体内研究

Poloxamer 188 (150 mg/kg, intravenous injection, with an interval of 240 minutes between injections) can significantly reduce muscle swelling and lipid peroxidation related to ischemia-reperfusion injury.

Dosage:	150 mg/kg

Result:	Reduced the elevated TBARS but not to control levels and SOD activity was at control levels.
