NCOA4 - 9a is a novel and highly selective ferroptosis inhibitor, and the first small molecule inhibitor targeting the interaction between NCOA4-FTH1 proteins. NCOA4-9a directly binds to NCOA4 protein, effectively disrupting the protein-protein interaction between NCOA4 and FTH1, hindering the degradation of ferritin, and reducing the level of free ferrous ions (Fe ² ⁺) in cells. Therefore, it can inhibit Erastin induced ferroptosis,EC50 =0.29 μM.
