CMCS-SH is a functionalized derivative obtained by introducing thiol groups (-SH) into the molecular chain of carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS). It retains the excellent biological properties of carboxymethyl chitosan—water solubility, pH sensitivity, biocompatibility, and biodegradability—while also acquiring superior bioadhesive capabilities due to the introduction of thiol groups, making it an ideal raw material for preparing biogel materials.
